More Formulas, More Options The purpose of this Appendix was to demonstrate two advanced functions that really show off the way Microsoft Excel works:   TEXT Formulas: Left, Right, MID Excel is the best tool for parsing data and picking out information from a STRING.   Using NESTED Functions: Advanced IF() The IF() Function has two answers: one for True and another for False.
